Welcome to Inside the Five, our new blog about the people and stories that are part of Eyewitness News at 5:00 p.m.

Each day you’ll see comments about our newscast posted by me, Sade or Lee – as well as by our producers and reporters. We will share personal stories from behind the scenes and a bit about how the daily news process works. Some people say it’s like sausage: Not pretty seeing how it’s made. But we think sharing the process will give you a better understanding of local news and make you a more informed viewer.

So here’s how it will work. I won’t be posting every day, nor will the entire Eyewitness News at Five team. That would be “blog” overkill. Instead, you’ll hear from our team on a regular basis with most of us blogging every few days -- some of us once a week. Tappy Phillips will blog about her “7 on Your Side” stories, Lee Goldberg will chat about weather, and much more.

Then, every Friday we’ll answer your questions. So feel free to post away, and we’ll get back to you.

All of us on Eyewitness News at Five are looking forward to sharing our thoughts and observations with you. We want to make it interesting, which is how we view our newscast.
